We offer weekly classes in arts and crafts, Bible Study, computer training and Spanish. We also allow our seniors to watch educational programs via YouTube.
Health Screenings for high blood pressure and diabetes are done last Thursday of each month, and high cholesterol and heart disease are offered quarterly. Exercise and physical activities include a weekly Tai Chi class, Strong for Life, and Music and Movement class. Health related brochures and pamphlets from local agencies are available at no cost to seniors.
The East Palo Alto Senior Center provides daily nutritious breakfast and weekly brown bag meals to seniors residing in East Palo Alto, especially seniors with low income. The City of East Palo Alto provides the lunch program. The Second Harvest Bank provides a Brown Bag program on first and third Thursdays, which gives seniors fresh produce and food pantry items.
The Senior Center is an enjoyable place to meet friends daily. We host various cultural celebrations, educational activities, and fundraising events to support the center’s operations.
The City of East Palo Alto provides a bus to seniors needing transportation from home to the Senior Center for twenty-five cents per ride. Transportation is also provided for field trips and events.
